1. THE LAST RESORT - CALGARY

Stage West Calgary presents The Last Resort, a musical murder mystery
comedy, book by Norm Foster, music and lyrics by Leslie Arden.  

The Last Resort is set in  a dilapidated  hotel in Saskatchewan.  Guests
include  a New York restaurant owner in the witness protection program,
an FBI agent, twins on their way to the reading of their father's will,
a couple celebrating their 24th anniversary, and a poet with writer's
block.  Music, murder and mayhem ensue, abetted by  German hotelier
Freda Heitz and investigated by Inspector Closely of the RCMP.  The
comedy opens July 15 and runs through September 4.  Directed by Di
Nyland-Proctor with musical direction by Brent Rock, the cast includes
CAEA members Mairi Babb, J. Sean Elliott, Natascha Girgis, Kathryn
Kerbes, David LeReaney, Patric Masurkevitch, Don Noble and Lew
Wetherell..   The production was designed by Douglas J. Rathbun (set and
lighting) and Brian Craik (costumes) and   stage management is in the
capable hands of  Sean D. Ellis, Darcy Foggo and Laurel O'Neil.
Production Manager Kira Campbell and Technical Director Robert Nerbus
round out the team.
