AUDITION - VANCOUVER
--------------------------------
The Arts Club Theatre is currently accepting resumes for its upcoming
production of SHEAR MADNESS by Paul Pvrtner, directed by Bobby Lohrmann,
Associate Director, Washington D.C. production. We are looking for
very strong comic actors with extensive experience in improvisation for
the following roles:

BARBARA DEMARCO - the hairstylist who keeps Shear Madness running. She
is a wise-cracking, gum-snapping, nail polishing hairdresser cum
manicurist, dishy and put together, though on the cheap side. (Age range
23-39. Prototype: A young Bette Midler.)

MIKEY THOMAS - a capable and earnest undercover cop. (Age range 23-30.
Prototype: An energetic Matthew Broderick).

TONY WHITCOMB - the flamboyant, irrepressible proprietor of the Shear
Madness salon. He is interested in everything and everyone. He is fun,
devilish, interesting, passionate and a real character. (Age range
26-50. Prototype: An innocent, mischievous hybrid of Eddie Murphy and
Lucille Ball with some Bugs Bunny thrown in)

EDDIE LAWRENCE - the "mystery man", a well-dressed, nice-looking
confidence man who covers a dangerous interior with a smooth, suave, and
occasionally charming exterior. (Age range 30-55. Prototype: Nicholas
Cage).

NICK ROSETTI (or NICK JOHNSON or TOM O\'BRIEN depending on ethnic
background) - a bright, quick thinking, personable character actor who
can also be an excellent straight man. A good looking, masculine actor
with a solid voice and acting skills who can learn the dynamics that
will keep the investigation on track. (Age range: 30-50. Prototype: A
cross between the comic bluster of a Jackie Gleason with the likeability
of a Harrison Ford and the authority of a Tommy Lee Jones.)

MRS. SHUBERT - an old-money socialite of impeccable breeding and manner.
She must move with natural- not artificial- grace and style, and speak
with natural- not artificial- cultured tones. At her finest she\'s a
real class act. (Age range 45-70. Prototypes: Susan Sullivan- Kitty
Montgomery in Dharma and Greg.)
