CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - RICHMOND

Gateway Theatre Auditions:
The Gateway Theatre (Richmond, B.C) will be holding Auditions for their
2005-06 Main Stage and New Play Series on June 21 and 22nd 2005 at
Gateway Theatre. In attendance will be Simon Johnston (Artistic Producer
Gateway Theatre), and Barbara Tomasic (Artistic Associate, Gateway
Theatre).  Gateway Theatre encourages contemporary casting.

We will be casting the following productions:

Homeward Bound by Elliot Hayes, Directed by Simon Johnston October 13 -
29, 2005 Casting Breakdown: 
The Beachams: (A biracial family)
Nick (30-35): 		A reporter, the favourite son.
Norris (35-40):	Nick's older sister.
Bonnie (55-65): 	Nick and Norris' mother.
Glen (55-70):		Nick and Norris' father, married to Bonnie. 
The Sons in Law: 
Guy (30-35):		Nick's partner, a shy sweet tempered alcoholic.
Kevin (35-40):	Norris' husband.   

Rice Rockets/ Yacht People by Simon Johnston

Casting Breakdown:
Ken Lee (40-50):	Rich businessman from Hong Kong. 
(Must have a working knowledge of Cantonese)
Barb Lee (40-50):	Ken's Wife.  (Must have a working knowledge of
Cantonese)
Winnie Lee (able to play 10-16):	Ken and Barb's daughter.  
Leonard Lee (able to play 14-18):	Ken and Barb's teenage son.  
Roberta White (30-40): 		Employee at Ken and Barb's factory.  

SCENEFIRST READING SERIES:

January 16-22, 2005
Gateway Theatre will present staged readings of 4 new plays in Studio B.
Actors will rehearse during the day, and present a reading for an
audience in the evening.  Plays that are presented will be short listed
for upcoming seasons.  

Audition Requirements:
Candidates will be asked to prepare sides from one or more of the plays
and may be asked to present the following.  
'Two contrasting contemporary monologues; no more than two minutes each.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
