JOB - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - TORONTO

Theatre Ontario invites applications for the position of EXECUTIVE
DIRECTOR to begin work in early October 2006.  This is a full-time,
permanent position.

A provincial arts service organization serving individuals and
organizations from the professional, community, and educational/youth
theatre sectors of Ontario, Theatre Ontario administers professional
development and training programs; acts as a resource centre for
information on theatre through career counselling, publications, and
online resources; facilitates a number of theatre networks and actively
works on special projects; and advocacy with other arts organizations on
behalf of Ontario's theatre community.  For further details on Theatre

Theatre Ontario seeks a strong, innovative leader, familiar with the
theatre sector in Ontario and with experience in not-for-profit
management.  The successful candidate will have demonstrated skills in
revenue generation, grant writing, development and management of
budgets, marketing, recruitment and supervision of staff, oral and
written communications, problem solving, advocacy, and project
management. Essential to the position is expertise in developing and
maintaining effective working relationships with staff and Board
members, government and private sector funding agencies, the arts and
cultural sector networks and volunteers.   The new Executive Director
will be also be responsible for implementing the recently completed
Theatre Ontario strategic plan.
