Properties Buyer 
Position to Start by: September 2006
Term: Sept - April contract (with potential for yearly renewal)
Salary: TBD
Job Description: Reporting to the Head of the Props Department, the
props buyer will be an energetic team player responsible for acquiring
all items/materials as per demands of each show (including the Main
Stage and Studio productions). With the guidance of the Department Head,
the buyer will also be responsible for the maintenance of the prop
storage. Depending on skill level, some building may be required.
Skill Requirements:
 Minimum of 2 years experience in theatre.
 The ability to interpret set designs and drawings.
 Ability to manage and balance petty cash.
 Possess good communication skills.
 Be organized and have effective time management skills.
 Have the ability to research information and source materials.
 Have working knowledge of tools and materials
 Be familiar with the history of design.
 Be computer literate. MAC preferred
 Building skills a great asset.
 Ability to drive a large vehicle an asset.
The applicant must have their own vehicle, a valid Drivers license and a
clean driving record.
Additional Information: this seasonal full time position (September -
April) offers a benefits package after a probationary period.
