AUDITION NOTICE - HALIFAX

Planning for Neptune Theatre's 2006-2007 new season is in full swing.
Neptune Theatre will be holding open auditions for all roles (except
KAFEE) in the production of A Few Good Men on May 4-6, 2006 at Neptune
Theatre, 1593 Argyle Street. A Few Food Men will be directed by Ted
Dykstra who will be on hand during the auditions. 

Artists are asked to prepare a contemporary monologue (3 minute) of
their choice and be prepared to read from the script.  

Artists are required to know the play WELL and to be fully prepared with
the sides. 

Also, Artists should be prepared for callbacks. 

Headshot and Resume MUST be emailed by Tuesday, May 2, 2006 to the
following 2 email addresses - ad at neptunetheatre.com   AND
pocean at rogers.com 
Information can also be dropped off to Neptune Theatre - 1593 Argyle
St., Halifax, NS B3J 2B2.

Auditions are by appointment only.  Neptune Theatre will contact Artists
to arrange an audition time.

A Few Good Men Dates
	Rehearsal dates - Tuesday, August 22, 2006
	First Public Performance - Tuesday, September 12, 2006
	Closing date -   October 8, 2006

ROLE DESCRIPTIONS:

HAROLD DAWSON AND LOUDEN DOWNEY: Early 20's.  Young marines who are the
centre of a murder investigation. Dawson is a squad leader who hides the
fact that he actually has a heart, Downey is a "completely" trained
(only eats if he is told to) marine who could use a few more brain
cells.
SAM WEINBERG: Late 20's, early 30's, loveable frumpy new dad, who is a
lawyer and best friend to Kafee, our hero
JOANNE GALLOWAY: Our heroine, smart, strong, sexy, attractive,
idealistic. Late 20's
MATTHEW MARKINSON: 50+. Takes his own life because he feels he failed
the dead marine, and he knows the truth is being covered up.
WILLIAM SANTIAGO: 20's - Either slightly overweight, or frail. He is the
marine who dies while being "disciplined". Spanish/Cuban accent
NATHAN JESSOP: (late 40's) Ruthless, and considers himself and anything
within the Marine Corps to be above and outside the law. He gets to say
"You can't handle the truth"
JONATHAN KENDRICK: (late 30's) Deluded by Christianity, thinks that he
represents and knows God's will on earth. 
JACK ROSS: (30's) Lawyer for the Marines, fair, witty and very competent
JEFFERY HOWARD: (20's) Likes to laugh, a witness in the case, good
marine, who gets very nervous in the courtroom
JULIUS RANDOLPH: (60's) - the judge. Everything you'd want a judge to
be, wry an and fair
WALTER STONE: (60's) the doctor. Doesn't want to have his hand forced by
Jessop but is compromised nonetheless

SEVERAL MARINES, SAILORS, MP'S, LAWYERS et al

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
