URGENT - EQUITY SUPPORTS ACTRA IN IPA SHOWDOWN
---------------------

In the face of unprecedented rollback demands from producers, ACTRA has
sought conciliation in its current round of bargaining for a new
Independent Production Agreement (IPA) and may seek a strike mandate
from its members as early as next week.

ACTRA and the CFTPA/APFTQ began negotiations for a new IPA on October
23. Producer demands include paycuts of 10 to 25%, gutting of performer
residuals, and erosion of working conditions. The current IPA expires
December 31, 2006.

In the event ACTRA does call for strike on IPA work, Equity members are
instructed that they must refrain from accepting struck work whether
they are members of ACTRA or not. Equity is committed to supporting our
colleagues in ACTRA and to upholding the principles of the Reciprocal
Agreement we share.

If a member is offered work in ACTRA's jurisdiction they should
immediately contact their local ACTRA branch office for instructions.
ACTRA is maintaining its website with up to the minute news. Please see
http://www.actra.ca for further information.
