The Toronto Professional Premiere of
Whale Music

Auditions will be held December 4 and 5, 2006
Rehearsals begin April 2, 2007 and previews April 26 & 27, 2007 
Opens April 28, 2007 and runs through to May 20, 2007
Tarragon Theatre Extra Space

Caroline - (woman, turning 21) A young British university student who is
independent, determined  but conflicted about being pregnant.  We see
her in various stages of pregnancy throughout the play.

Sheelagh - (woman, 45-55) Caroline's mother. Middle class, British.
Caring, understanding and struggling to do what she feels is right.
Important small part.

Kate -   (woman, mid thirties) Caroline's former teacher, mentor and
friend.  Gay. A straight talking woman, opinionated and yet
understanding.

D - (woman, 17)  Kate's young student  and current lover. Rough around
the edges and an activist.  

Whale Music written by Oscar award-winning director and writer Anthony
Minghella (The English Patient, Cold Mountain, The Talented Mr Ripley,
Truly Madly Deeply), is an entertaining and moving portrayal of five
dynamic young women who come together on the Isle of Wight, England, for
the duration of an unplanned pregnancy among them. What emerges is a
touching and funny portrait of female bonding that transcends boundaries
of age, class and education.

emailed.

Ontario M6J 1R5.  We invite resumes from artists of diverse cultures and
ethnicities.  Equity and Non-Equity performers will be seen. Submit a
hard copy resume/photo only - no phone calls or emails - thanks.  Only
those selected for an audition will be contacted. 

Equity members will be seen first at all audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. An application for "Indie" status has been made by the
Engaging Company to Canadian Actors' Equity Association. CAEA members:
