The Department of Theatre at Dalhousie University invites applications
for a tenure stream appointment in Acting, at the rank of Assistant
Professor, commencing July 1, 2007.  The responsibilities may include
either teaching three full-year classes in Acting and/or Voice and
Speech at the first, second, third, and fourth-year levels OR teaching
two and a half classes in the above as well as coaching or directing
DalTheatre Productions.  In addition to this, the successful candidate
will be expected to coordinate the Acting Program along with other
Acting faculty members.  The qualifications required for this position
include: 1) MFA or equivalent; 2) a minimum of ten years of active
professional experience as an actor and/or acting teacher, and/or
director; 3) ability in the following areas:  voice, speech and/or
dialect work, text interpretation, scene study, audition technique, and
neutral and full-face character mask.  Applications, which should
include a complete curriculum vitae, a statement of artistic and
teaching interests and philosophies, and three confidential letters of
reference forwarded under separate cover by the referees, should be sent
in hard copy to the
