General Audition Notice
2007-2008 Season

In preparation for the 2007-2008 season, Allison Grant, Artistic
Director for Theatre Athena, will be holding general auditions in
Toronto and Waterloo, Ontario for the following productions:

MASTER CLASS  Directed by Allison Grant
By Terrence McNally
Contract dates: September 2, 2007 - October 13, 2007
Roles to be cast: (2 F, 3 M)
FIRST SOPRANO (SOPHIE)
SECOND SOPRANO (SHARON)
TENOR (TONY)
STAGEHAND 

Audition Requirements:  Artists should prepare an aria from the show
(need not be memorized) and one comedic monologue

BUNNICULA  Directed by: Liza Balkan  
Adapted by Jon Klein, Music by Chris Jeffries, from the story by Deborah
and James How
Contract dates: November 24, 2007 - December 29, 2007
Roles to be cast: (2 F, 4 M)
HAROLD - a male dog 
CHESTER - a male cat (played by a female)
ROBERT MONROE
ANN MONROE - his wife
PETE - their son, age 10 (played by an adult)
TOBY - their son, age 8 (played by an adult)

Audition Requirements: Artists should prepare one up-tempo, comic song
and one comedic monologue

THE MAN IN THE DESERT Directed by Allison Grant
By Peter Colley
Contract dates: February 2, 2008- March 9, 2008
Roles to be cast: (2 F, 4M) 
Lowell Thomas - an American newsman, 40's
Charlotte Shaw - left-wing political activist, wife to George Bernard
Shaw, British, 50's to 60's
Corporal "Crasher" Dunstone - British airman, 40's
Clare Sydney Smith - a British author, mid 20's to mid 30's
Prince Feisal - an Arab Revolt leader, mid 30's to mid 40's
Leading Aircraftman "Tam"; Walden - British airman, early 20's

Audition Requirements: Artists are requested to prepare two contrasting
monologues

Auditions will take place on May14, 15 2007 at Equity Showcase in
Toronto, Ontario and May 18, 2007 at The Waterloo Entertainment Centre
in Waterloo, Ontario.  Callbacks will be held in Waterloo on May 19,
2007.  Only those artists who are invited to audition will be contacted
to set up an audition time.  

Please include a resume, headshot and a letter stating your interest in
auditioning by April 23 and submit for consideration to:

If Allison knows your work, please send a note if there is a role or a
show that interests you.  Theatre Athena encourages submissions from
artists of diverse cultures and ethnicities.  Priority will be given to
Equity artists.  

Copies of the scripts will be made available at the Toronto Reference
Library.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
