JOB - GENERAL MANAGER - TORONTO

Now entering its sixth year of operation, Studio 180 Theatre seeks
applications for the position of part time General Manager. Since its
inception in 2002, the company has adopted a strong collaborative
approach to the production of socially relevant theatre. Studio 180 is a
registered charitable organization.

The General Manager will report to the Artistic Director and, where
appropriate, to the Treasurer of the Board. 

Job Description
As General Manager, the successful candidate's primary responsibilities
will include but are not limited to the following:
-establishing, maintaining and monitoring the implementation of
operating procedures and systems of control for all financial
transactions.
-providing business leadership to Studio 180.
-engaging in, and helping to further develop all matters related to
fundraising activities.
-seeking potential corporate sponsors as well as the support of
foundations and private donors.
-initiating and overseeing the planning and execution of all grant
writing activities.
-coordinating volunteer involvement.
-budgeting all production activities for Studio 180.
-establishing and overseeing Studio 180's annual budget.
-providing cash flow projections and budgetary forecasts.
-overseeing all banking activities, including but not limited to
salaries, deposits and bookkeeping.
-attending regularly scheduled board meetings and reporting on relevant
matters.
-maintaining records of all general operating and payroll contracts.
-maintaining day-to-day office operations.
-negotiating all contracts for Studio 180.
-developing Studio 180's professional relationships and public profile. 
-working to maintain the integrity of Studio 180's mandate and vision
statements.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience with
a professional arts organization. A passionate commitment to theatre
directly connected to Studio 180's focus is a considerable asset. S/he
will enjoy working in a highly collaborative atmosphere as well as on
self-initiated projects.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, time management,
computer skills with word processing, database management and desktop
publishing, experience with fundraising and grant writing, as well as a
knowledge of the policies and agreements of the Canadian Actor's Equity
Association, the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres and ADC
are all considered assets.

Studio 180 is moving from a project-based collective to an organization
committed to year-round theatrical development and production. The
General Manager will be encouraged to join the company's core and board
members in this exciting period of growth.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
