JOB - GENERAL MANAGER - LETHBRIDGE

Founded in 1990, New West Theatre is a highly successful,
forward-looking
theatre company that enjoys great community support and attendance in
excess
of 30,000 patrons per year to its seven-show season. The company
produces
works with an equal emphasis on drama and music, producing four Canadian
works (including one children=B9s theatre show) and three large-scale
original music revues per season.  The company enjoys a positive
financial situation and is well positioned for an exciting future.
Situated in the arts rich environment of Lethbridge, Alberta, New West
Theatre is the largest professional theatre company south of Calgary.

The new General Manager will assume all managerial duties of the
outgoing
founding Artistic Managing Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors
the
General Manager will be a highly personable perfectionist with an
auditor's
eye and the administrative acumen, vision and imagination to build upon
the
established successes and traditions of the company.

Responsibilities involving execution of all aspects of the company's
financial matters require a thorough knowledge of arts administration
and
management, fund development, grant writing, public relations and
communications, marketing and an understanding of professional theatre
policies and procedures and the operations and obligations of a
non-profit
charity.

The successful candidate will work in a highly collaborative partnership
with the Artistic Director on all matters related to company oversight,
planning, programming, networking, community building, marketing, grant
writing, contracting,  budget management and fulfilling the company's
mandate.

We are seeking a creative individual who has a keen and unqualified
sense of
humour, relentless drive, excellent written and oral communication
skills,
proven experience in arts administration and management, a passion for
theatre, and the ability to work independently and in a team situation.
Expertise with both PC and Mac platforms, office and accounting software
and
the internet is a necessity.  This is a full time position.
