ACTORS' FUND BENEFIT - CALGARY
------------------------------
Theatre Calgary is thrilled to present an Actors' Fund benefit
performance
of the Irish comedy hit, The Cripple of Irishman, by maverick playwright
MARTIN MCDONAGH on Sunday March 25 at 7:30PM.

When a Hollywood film crew descends on a remote Irish community, it
provides plenty of new gossip for the local folks and new hope for
Billy, an outcast boy who dreams of stardom and escape. This is a quirky
new comedy in the tradition of The Playboy of the Western World, staged
by
the former Artistic Director of Dublins famed Abbey Theatre, BEN
BARNES.

Theatre Calgary welcomes back ROD BEATTIE, who is familiar to Calgary
audiences from his one-man- show work in the Wingfield Farm series, to
play town-gossip Johnnypateenmike. Playing the title role of Cripple
Billy
is Calgarian CHRISTIAN GOUTSIS. Joining them onstage are Irish-born
actors
PATRICIA BENEDICT and MARY HENNIGAN. Also included in the cast are PAUL
COWLING, JOYCE DOOLITTE, PHIL FULTON, DOUG MCKEAG and DANIELA VLASKALIC.

ALL TICKETS for this special benefit performance are $25. General
admission seating at the Max Bell Theatre, EPCOR Centre for the
Performing
Arts. Tickets are available at the door or by calling (403) 294-7447
(Mon
- Fri, 9am-5pm ONLY).
