A Midsummer Night's Dream

Directed by:  ahdri zhina mandiela

Auditions will be held in December
Rehearsals begin June 3, 2008 opens June 29, 2008 closes August 31, 2008

PLEASE NOTE CLEARLY ON YOUR RESUME IF YOU CAN SING, DANCE, PLAY ANY
INSTRUMENT OR PERFORM ANY CIRCUS/BUSKING TYPE TRICKS (FIRE BREATHING,
STILT WALKING, ACROBATICS) 
ALSO CLEARLY NOTE EQUITY/ACTRA STATUS 

Egeus - (Female 30-60) Hermia's overprotective Mother.

Hermia - (Female 20-40) - Strong willed, determined and passionate
woman.  In love.

Fairies - (Female) Attendants to the Fairy Queen. Ability to sing well
and dance an asset.

Nick Bottom - (Male) The self-proclaimed leader of a group of amateur
performers. Ability to sing and/or rap is an asset.

Mechanicals - {Francis Flute, Tom Snout, Snug and Robin Starveling}
(Male of Female) A group of local trades people who are putting on a
play. Ability to sing and/or rap is an asset.

Those selected for an audition will be asked to prepare a Shakespeare
monologue, preferably from A Midsummer Night's Dream as well as a
musical rendition of a Shakespeare text.  

Send submissions no later than Wednesday, November 28th, 2007 at NOON to
Katherine Grainger, The Canadian Stage Company, 26 Berkeley Street,
Toronto, Ontario, M5A 2W3. We encourage submissions from artists of
diverse cultures and ethnicities. Both CAEA members and non-CAEA members
will be considered.  Submit a hard copy resume/photo only - no phone
calls or emails - thanks.  Only those selected for an audition will be
contacted. 

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
