------------------------------
S.M.Arts 2009 BEGINS FEBRUARY 26TH (TORONTO)
------------------------------

The 13th annual Stage Managing the Arts (S.M.Arts) Conference will take
place February 26 to March 9 in Toronto. The "Equity day" will be
Tuesday, March 3. The annual Apprenticeship Trust Fund Fundraiser party
will be held on Monday, March 9th.

Equity is a key S.M.Arts sponsor as part of the Association's
professional development mandate.

S.M.Arts Conference Director Winston Morgan and Co-Director Janelle
Rainville host a series of seminars exploring the many aspects of the
craft of stage management. These sessions provide a comfortable
environment for new or experienced stage managers to hone their skills.

The Conference is designed for both the student stage manager who wants
to know more about their career choice and the experienced stage manager
who is looking for diversification within their field.

As in past years, S.M.Arts will be offering a conference pass which
allows a participant to attend all of the courses for a substantially
reduced rate.

The 2009 Conference brochure and complete course schedule will be posted
online at www.caea.com and at S.M.Arts' new website
www.stagemanagingthearts.ca later this month.

Preliminary enquiries about the 2009 Conference may be directed to
Winston Morgan, Director and Janelle Rainville, Co-Director at
smartsconference at gmail.com.
