Additional information:
Director Richard Rose will be conducting auditions 10 am - 6 pm, June
25th and 26th in Halifax, NS. There will be a musical call back on
Sunday, June 28th.

Artists are asked to read the script ahead of time and prepare sides, as
well as a folk song, preferably of east coast descent (maximum length: 2
minutes), to be performed a capella. Artists may be required to sing a
cappella in the production.

If performers are required to play an instrument that is indicated in
the breakdown below.

- Alexander MacDonald, the Narrator (preferably plays folk instrument)

- Grandma/Schoolyard Kid #1/Scottish Woman #1/Christy the Horse (strong
singer)

- Calum MacDonald/Calum Ruadh (preferably plays folk instrument)

- Cousin Alexander/Scottish Man #3/ Mourner #2/California Cousin/ Whale
Chorus of Acrobats/ Canso Causeway RCMP /Alexander's Father (guitar a
MUST) - to play 20's to 30's

- Grandpa/Scottish Man #2 - to play 50's or older (preferably plays folk
instrument)

- Serious Grandfather/ Schoolyard Kid #2/Fern Picard - to play 50's or
older (preferably plays folk instrument)

- Brother #1 (Dog)/Schoolyard Kid #3/Scottish Man #4/The Dog/Fern
Picard's Hoist Man (accordion)

- Brother #2/Schoolyard Kid #4/ Scottish Man #1 /Hospital Attendant
(celtic fiddler)

Members of Canadian Actors Equity Association will be given priority.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
