WINTER 2010 COUNCIL LINK NOW ONLINE - BYLAW UPDATES
---------------------------

In the new issue of "Council Link - A periodic report to the Owners of Equity." President Allan Teichman reports on Council's recent bylaw updates.

Equity's bylaws occupy a middle ground between the broad, visionary statements of the Constitution and the detailed requirements of Council policy. All together, these three levels of regulation set out the purpose and core structure of Equity and specify how the Association is governed and run.

Although both bylaws and policy are regularly reviewed, bylaw changes must be published to the Equity membership within 45 days, so Council collects pending amendments for a year or more and then processes them at one time. This recent collection of bylaw amendments was passed at Council's October 2010 meeting. These changes are now in effect, and they will be integrated into the online version of the bylaws in the near future.

Electronic access to "Council Link" issues are restricted to Equity members only. Members must login to the Members Only zone of EQUITYONLINE (http://www.caea.com) to read the document.

To view "Council Link" online a member will require Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is available free at the Adobe Web site: http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html.
