Chair - Theatre Arts Program, Centre for the Arts and Communications
Grant MacEwan University

The Centre for the Arts and Communications (CFAC) at Grant MacEwan
University seeks a dynamic theatre artist/educator with leadership
capacity to become the Chair of Theatre Arts. Theatre Arts is a two
-year conservatory-style musical theatre program that moulds 'triple
threat' performers by offering equal parts theatrical, musical and dance
training. This program has a rich thirty-year history and is recognized
throughout Canada for the quality of its graduates.

In this full-time continuing position, the program chair is responsible
for the overall vision, management, planning and delivery of the
program, as well as a variety of directing and teaching assignments.
He/she also serves as the artistic director for the theatre arts
performance season in the main stage and lab spaces. 

The candidate must have a vision and passion for excellence in musical
theatre education, as well as a strong record of teaching, directing,
research and creative achievement in the field.  A graduate degree in a
relevant discipline is required, in combination with significant
teaching and professional experience. Candidates will be expected to
possess leadership skills, the ability to create an environment that
fosters student learning, and an understanding of curriculum development
processes.
