2011 EQUITY HONOURS AWARD NOMINATION DEADLINE IS EXTENDED TO MAY 6

A larger than usual volume of mail created by the ongoing federal
election has led to unexpected delays at Canada Post. In order to
facilitate nominations for the 2011 Honours Awards, the submission
deadline has been extended to May 6 for applications postmarked by May
2.

Equity's Honours Awards selection committee needs your assistance. It's
time to HONOUR your mentor; HONOUR your teacher; HONOUR your community
volunteers; HONOUR your inspiration; HONOUR individuals who have made a
difference in your career, your business, and your Association.

Worthy candidates live and work across all Equity's regions and
disciplines. Your nomination will ensure that Council's Honours
Committee knows of all deserving candidates.

Please take the time to read the background information posted online at
http://www.caea.com  and consider nominating someone from your
community. 

The 2011 Honours Award nomination deadline has been extended to May 6
for nominations postmarked by May 2. A fill-in-able nomination form is
posted on EQUITYONLINE (http://www.caea.com) or call 1-800-387-1856
(416-867-9165 in Toronto) for assistance.

The awards to be presented are:
**NEW in 2011** The CAEA Award of Distinction may be given to any
organization,
individual, or group of individuals, excluding current staff, in
recognition of significant contribution within the realm of live
performance benefiting the Equity membership.

* Life Membership in Equity is awarded members who have made outstanding
contributions to the performing arts within Equity's jurisdiction. This
award recognizes not only career achievement, but also colleagues who
have gone "above and beyond" in other ways that contribute to the
benefit of either Equity or its members.

* The Larry McCance Award is awarded to a member of Equity or Equity's
staff who has made an outstanding contribution to the Association and
its members.

* Honorary Membership is awarded to a person who is ineligible to join
the Association and who has engaged in conspicuous effort, to the
benefit of Equity and it its members, or generally within the performing
arts.

Every nomination received will be acknowledged by the Committee.
