REMINDER - 2012 EQUITY COUNCIL ELECTIONS - NOMINATION DEADLINE IS AUGUST

The governance of Equity is vested in a national Council of 22
Councillors, chosen from each geographical region, proportional to its
member population, with additional representatives for each of dance,
opera and stage management disciplines. This October, a new team of
members will be chosen to serve on Council for the 2012-2015 term.

Regular and Life members of Equity in good standing, at least 18 years
old and resident in Canada, may run for elected office. Council
encourages members across all disciplines (choreographer, director,
fight director, performer and stage manager) to seek nomination for
election.

There is still time to be nominated!

Equity members may stand for election by being nominated, in writing, by
two other members. Election nomination forms are available online at
http://www.caea.com. The form must be signed by the member being
nominated, and by two other members in good standing. There is still
time to be nominated! Forms must be returned to Equity's National Office
by August 31, 2012.

Equity is dedicated to the election of a Council that is representative
of the diverse membership of the Association. Equity embraces diversity
and inclusiveness, and is committed to fairness, transparency and
access. Council encourages members of a visible minority group,
Aboriginal peoples, persons with a disability and women to seek
nomination for election.
