Additional information: The Showboat Festival Theatre is accepting
submissions for its 2012 Summer Season at the Theatre-in-the-Round in
the elegant Roselawn Centre in Port Colborne, Ontario.

Auditions will be held in Toronto, the week of February 13 or February
20.

Five Week Contract: May 29-June 30, 2012
Synopsis: America's premier funnyman and the Tony Award-winning composer
of A Chorus Line collaborated on this hit musical, a funny, romantic
show about an established composer and his relationship with an aspiring
young female lyricist.  Professionally, their relationship works
beautifully-but ultimately leads to conflict on the home front. Of
course, there's a happy ending.

Roles To Be Cast
*       Sonya (20s-30s) - a quirky, free spirited lyricist, wears her
heart on her sleeve
*       Vernon (30s-40s) - a quick witted and sarcastic New York
composer of pop songs

OLD LOVE
A Comedy by Norm Foster
Five Week Contract: June 19-July 21, 2012
Synopsis: He's recently divorced. She's newly-widowed. At her husband's
funeral, an old aquaintance emerges to pay his respects, leading to a
re-awakening of forgotten emotions. Old Love is a story of romance,
courtship and relationships between older adults.

POP! GOES THE SIXTIES
A Musical Celebration Of The Pop Music of the 1960s
Conceived by Thom Currie
Five Week Contract: July 10-August 11, 2012
An ex-hippie and her adult children go through the mega hits of the
sixties in this brand new show.  A fun and far out celebration of the
top hits of the 1960s, one of pop music's greatest decades, featuring
the music of Petula Clark, The Monkees, Neil Diamond, The Archies, The
Lovin' Spoonful, Ray Charles, The Byrds, Dusty Springfield and many many
more.

Roles to be cast: The entire cast should be solid musical performers
with an ability to dance well and an ear for harmonies. The ability to
play one or more instruments is also a definite asset.
*       CAROL (Late 40s to Early 50s). Mezzo with a strong belt.  Mother
Earth/Cass Elliott type
*       JOHN (Early 20s to 30s). Baritenor with good comic timing.
*       NICOLE (Early 20s to 30s). Mezzo soprano/alto. 

LAST OF THE RED HOT LOVERS
A Comedy by Neil Simon
Five Week Contract: July 31-September 1, 2012
Middle-aged and married, overworked and overweight, Barney Cashman wants
to join the sexual revolution before it's too late and arranges three
seductions: the first, Elaine Navazio proves to be a foul-mouthed bundle
of neuroses; Bobbi Michele is next, a 20-ish actress who's too kooky by
half; finally comes september and Jeanette Fisher, a gloomy, depressed
housewife who happens to be married to Barney's best friend.

Roles to be cast
*       1 Woman to play ELAINE, BOBBI and JEANETTE

The Showboat Festival Theatre has been producing professional theatre in
Port Colborne, Ontario since 1987.  The company performs in the intimate
Theatre in the Round at the historic Roselawn Centre. 

Showboat Festival Theatre engages CAEA members under the ITA.
