Litmus Theatre welcomes and encourages submissions from all artists regardless of ethnicity or cultural background.

Additional information:
Litmus Theatre is seeking 2 additional actors for the world premiere of Birth of Frankenstein this fall.

The play will fuse the classic Frankenstein narrative with Mary Shelley's historical and personal circumstances to build a unique site-specific experience.

Actors will be engaged under the CAEA Indie 2.0 agreement based on 5 Equity weeks of work, though this will be spread out from September 3rd - November 2nd.

ACTOR 1
Male actor playing multiple roles including:

WILLIAM GODWIN - Mary Shelley's Father.  An intellectual anarchist in his heyday, but currently reduced to running a children's bookstore.

LORD BYRON- exudes confidence, lethargy, and sexuality in equal measures. Flamboyant poet extraordinaire and brilliant leader of the Romantic Movement.

ACTOR 2
Female actor playing multiple roles including:

MARY WOLSTENCRAFT - Mary Shelley's mother.  An eighteenth-century British writer, philosopher, and staunch advocate of women's rights. 

JANE GODWIN: Mary Shelley's younger sister.  A fast living, intelligent, and coquettish young woman who often acts on impulse.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
