JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Sirius Theatrical Company and Lakeshore Arts are seeking a Set and Props Designer for FORGOTTEN VOICES our War of 1812 community theatre performance project.  Experience designing for outdoor touring productions would be an asset, as well as a proven ability to work with a limited budget and creative use of materials.  In addition to design, the qualified candidate will coordinate with the Technical Director and be expected to lead a 2.5 hour hands-on workshop for community participants on designing for period and outdoor productions with specific reference to design for FORGOTTEN VOICES.

QUALIFICATIONS: At least 2 years experience in set and props design with experience in design for outdoor touring productions an asset.

DATES:  Major Design work to be completed by June 1, 2013
        Production opens July 4, 2013

LOCATION:  Toronto

PROJECT  DESCRIPTION:   Forgotten Voices: Beyond the Conflict of the War of 1812 is a multi-generational, multi-disciplinary performance piece that will explore the vital but often forgotten 'behind the scenes' roles played by men, women and children during the War of 1812. The piece will be performed in July in eight outdoor locations in and around the Lakeshore Area and central Etobicoke.
