NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE 2013-2016 CANADIAN BALLET AGREEMENT WITH THE NBC
SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDE
---------------------------
Equity announces that bargaining with the National Ballet of Canada for
the 2013-2016 Canadian Ballet Agreement with the National Ballet of
Canada (NBC) have successfully concluded.

Equity members in good standing who are currently working under the
agreement are eligible to vote on the ratification of the proposed
changes. A ratification vote by return mail ballot (only) will commence
shortly. Details will follow as soon as they are available.

Equity and the National Ballet of Canada entered into formal
negotiations in spring 2013. Bargaining concluded on Monday, June 3,
2013.

The negotiated financial increases to the Agreement are: 2.9% in year 1;
2.8% in year 2; and 2.6% in year 3. Other negotiated improvements
include: two additional days of paid vacation; new penalty payments for
failure to meet scheduling change timelines; improvements to extended
health care benefits; an increase in ASM work weeks from 10 to 15; and a
new sideletter providing retirement compensation to dancers.

Pending a successful ratification, the new terms of the NBC will come
into effect July 1, 2013.
