Set in an isolated bar, during a raging snow storm, "The Oak Room" is a Northern Gothic tale, streaked with sardonic humour, cryptic plotting, and shocking violence.

Paul (40s) is a physically imposing bartender with a short fuse.  In his bar, his authority is beyond reproach.

Steve (20s) is a youthful drifter who is prone to causing trouble. Since he is small in stature, he has to talk his way out of the conflicts that he instigates.

Michael (30s) is a chameleon who can adapt to any situation.  He is confident and quick on his feet, but can be also be passive, when it suits his goals.

Richard (30s, or 40s) is an arrogant and superficial big-city business type.  Used to getting what he wants, he becomes moody and impatient when he is not the one in charge.

Kenneth (50s, or 60s) is a hard-working small town bartender.  All who know him, like and respect him.
