Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
We are committed to diverse casting and actors of all backgrounds and orientations will be considered.

Additional information:
All actors will be engaged under the CAEA festival policy. This is a challenging and dramatic play with two amazing roles for two amazing women.

Julie (Age 40-55): Julie is Simone's estranged older sister. She is an addict who has just escaped from rehab and is staying in an empty apartment in Kensington Market. She is tough-as-nails and very dry and sarcastic. On the surface, she appears to be a mean and hard woman, but when you dig deeper there is so much more to her. All her life she felt as if she has been pushed over and stepped on.

Simone (Age 35-50): Simone is Julie's estranged younger sister. She is a divorcee and has gone to Kensington Market to look for her sister after she receives the news that Julie has escaped from rehab. She is determined, educated and uses sarcasm to distance herself from those she sees as inferior to her.  Her determination has not only left her alone in life and made her desperate to reconnect with her sister, it also makes her fight and be determined to win.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
