Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
Applicants from all ethno-cultural backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Additional information:
The Notorious Right Robert and His Robber Bride by Sean Dixon.
(Set in the 1930's in a small town in rural Canada.)

Casting the following roles:

Julius Talhammer - a bit older, narrator, former Sheriff of Chickabiddy, now deceased

Bull Withers - a young, uptight, bigger than his britches officer of the RCMP

Right Robert Popoff - a young bandit, charming & handsome

Blue Jay Popoff - his older brother, titular head of the Popoff gang, not the sharpest knife in the drawer but a good, true fella

Jenny Lundy - a poor but spunky and resourceful young girl, secretly beloved of Tallhammer

Mary Scrapes - a prostitute living in a small town, used to be beloved of Right Robert but secretly beloved of Blue Jay (this actress also plays the Pawnbroker, and a hold-up victim skilled in Shaolin Kung Fu)

Those selected for audition will be asked to prepare a comedic monologue and read from the script. Sides will be provided.

Please note: This production rehearses and performs in Prince Edward County, ONTARIO. This is a rural area 2 ½ hrs east of Toronto.  Rehearsals begin July 16, show opens Aug 6 and runs to Aug 25, 2013.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
