Additional information:

A world premiere by two of Toronto's hottest young playwrights. In this
modern day re-imagining of Dickens' classic, Oliver Twist, Ollie and
Nance struggle to survive on the unforgiving streets of Toronto. This
two-hander is told boldly and beautifully, by Ollie, an urban poet with
an electric street voice, and Nancy, Syke's "bottom bitch." In this
brutal yet touching story, the streets of Toronto's underbelly belong to
Sykes and Dodger, and human trafficking is their only currency.

OLIVER (Male) 17 years old
Oliver (or Ollie) is of mixed race (black/white), tough and in shape
without being physically imposing. Using elements of hip hop culture and
spoken word in the play's language, Ollie comes face to face with the
hardships, fears, and hopes of today's youth. He is both lost and
present; navigating a fierce reality of drugs, violence, and survival
set against an urban landscape.

We are seeking actors who can believably portray a 17-year old, who have
a strong handle on text, and dexterity with verse.

Please submit CV and headshot by Wednesday, September 3, 2014, by email
