NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE 2014-2017 BANFF CENTRE AGREEMENT SUCCESSFULLY
CONCLUDE
--------------------------------

Equity announces that bargaining with the Banff Centre for a renewal of
the 2014-2017 Agreement between the Banff Centre and Canadian Actors'
Equity Association has successfully concluded.

Equity Members in good standing who worked under the Banff Centre
Agreement between April 1, 2010 and December 2014 are eligible to vote
on the ratification of the proposed changes. A ratification vote will
commence in early January 2015.

Equity and the Banff Centre entered into formal negotiations in August
2014 which continued thereafter by email.

Improvements include:

* The negotiation of working terms and fees for Workshops &
Readings/Presentation for theatre, opera and dance. The Banff Agreement
rates for theatre are approximately 4% higher than the corresponding
rates in the CTA for theatre workshops. Opera and dance rates are
commensurately higher again.

* The elimination of the cap on stipends paid by the Centre for
participation in Banff Centre Programs. While there was no minimum
amount required, there was a ceiling on how much could be paid.

* Addition of a new dispute resolution mechanism as terms did not exist
in previous agreements.

Pending a successful ratification, the new terms of the Agreement will
come into effect March 1, 2015.

Questions regarding the negotiations may be directed to Executive
Director Arden R. Ryshpan either by email (execdir at caea.com) or by phone
at 1-800-387-1856 (416-867-9165 in Toronto).
