NEGOTIATIONS FOR A 2013-2014 EXTENSION TO THE NACMDA CONCLUDE

Equity has recently reached a tentative deal with the National Arts
Centre Music Department for a one-year renewal of the National Arts
Centre Music Department Agreement  (NACMDA).

The proposed fee changes are now subject to ratification by the affected
Equity membership. Pending a successful ratification, the current
Agreement will be renewed until June 30, 2014. Equity has negotiated a
1.5% increase to all minimum rates, fees and other monetary amounts in
the Agreement.

Ratification ballots and an explanatory letter have now been mailed to
Equity members in good standing who worked under the NACMDA during the
2008-2013 term.

Any eligible voter who does not receive a ballot by January 30, 2014 is
encouraged to contact Equity's National Office for assistance.

This ratification will be conducted by mail only. Please mail the
enclosed ballot no later than Tuesday, February 11, 2014. Only those
ballots received in Equity's National Office prior to 5:00 p.m. on
Tuesday, February 25, 2014 will be counted. 

The results of the ratification will be announced on e-drive and on
Equity's website at http://www.caea.com on Wednesday, February 26, 2014.

Pending a successful ratification, the NACMDA fee increases will be
retroactive to July 1, 2013.
