Paper Canoe Projects is an organization that believes in equal opportunity and is inclusive of age, cultural background, artistic discipline and experience while casting. 

Additional information: 
Paper Canoe Projects is auditioning for a 2-week workshop production of I Call Myself Princess. The work will have one public presentation. In attendance: Director: Ruth Madoc-Jones and Musical Director: Kevin McGugan.

Role: Alex Park 20 - 35. African Canadian. Baritone. Seeking opera singers/legit musical theatre actors comfortable with operatic style. Must read music. Strong acting skills an asset. The actor playing Alex will be required to play additional speaking roles. 

I Call myself Princess has its roots in the story of Tsianina Redfeather, a Creek/Cherokee mezzo soprano working in classical music at the turn of the century. The contemporary character of Alex continues to support his single mother and siblings in Winnipeg while remaining empathic to his First Nations boyfriend William, currently studying Opera in Toronto. But even the kindest of hearts has a breaking point.
