A MESSAGE FROM EQUITY COUNCIL'S DIRECTORS, CHOREOGRAPHERS AND FIGHT DIRECTORS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
----------------

***

All Directors, Fight Directors, and Choreographers are invited to participate in a new survey!
Please disregard this email if you are not a Director, Fight Director, or Choreographer (or if you have already completed the survey).

***

Please consider this request from Equity Council’s Directors, Choreographers and Fight Directors Advisory Committee if you have been hired by a professional theatre training program to work on a student production since January 2009.

As a result of member requests, the Committee is in the process of considering policy recommendations regarding Equity members’ work when hired as freelance directors, choreographers and/or fight directors by professional theatre/actor training schools or post-secondary institutions. Before drafting policy covering these kinds of engagements, the Committee is reaching out to members who do FREELANCE WORK for theatre training schools or post-secondary institutions. We want to hear from members hired for work on a production (as opposed to classroom teaching as an instructor or faculty member on a full or part-time basis).

The Committee has created a short survey. It shouldn’t take more than 10-15 minutes to answer and make comments should you wish. You may choose to respond anonymously. Your input will help Equity’s Council evaluate the ways in which Equity members are currently contracted and create a policy that reflects member needs and concerns. The information provided by the survey will help us immensely.

Please participate in this important survey as soon as possible. We need your response by MONDAY, JUNE 16. To express your views on this issue, visit EQUITYONLINE (www.caea.com), and you will see a link to log in. You will then be re-directed to the survey.

Thanks so much in advance for any information you choose to share.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact any of the Committee members:
Mark Bellamy (markbellamy at shaw.ca), Scott Bellis (embellisment at gmail.com), Timothy French (tgfrench at rogers.com), Jane Heyman (jane.heyman at gmail.com), Kimberley Rampersad (kimberleyrampersad at shaw.ca), Robert Seale (rob.seale at acadiau.ca) and Vinetta Strombergs (vinetta15 at gmail.com).
