Animal Pharmacy: A Medicine Show is a musical comedy satire of the global pharmaceutical industry in the style of an old-time medicine show. With roots- inflected songs and a vaudevillian sense of humour that recalls the Marx Brothers, the show follows snake oil salesman Doc Holiday as he cons his way into the job of RX Pharmaceutical Corporation CEO in order to unleash his patented Miracle Cure upon an unsuspecting world.

Seeking:
Doc Holiday: A traveling snake oil salesman, Holiday is all flash and fast talk, twisting language inside and out in order to mesmerize audiences into buying whatever he's selling. Mid to late 30's

Dean Codeine: A world famous indie folkie turned notorious hipster burnout, courtesy of Doc Holiday, Dean's onstage breakdown has exiled him to a bed-ridden life of reclusion, sexual impotence, and self-pity in his room at the Holiday Inn. Aging badly for a young man in his late-20s, Dean is tallish and very lean.

Mildred Milligram: Neurotic heiress to the RX Pharmaceutical Corporation fortune, Mildred is consumed with finding a cure for her son's natural born muteness. A large-framed and imposing woman in her mid- to late-40s, she spends most of her waking hours heavily medicated, courtesy of her fiancé, Doc Holiday.

Nurse: A curvaceous young woman in her late-20s, Nurse is Billy's caretaker, and Dean's love interest. Her attractiveness, kindness, and compassion, however, are a smokescreen for her mission as an undercover DEA agent trying to nab Holiday. She has one solo song. Mezzo.

Billy Milligram: Mildred's 34-year-old baby, Billy is a sprightly harlequin who performs entirely in pantomime. Smallish in stature, he does not sing, but plays harmonica, accompanying on three songs.

Chairman/Paramedic: A coked-out white collar sociopath, RX Pharmaceutical Corporation's Chairman of the Board is a white man in his 40s, with a medium build, whose plans to take over the company are interrupted when Holiday arrives. Baritone.

Executive/Paramedic/Groupie: A petite young woman in her 30s, the Executive is a corporate shill who gets behind Holiday when he takes over RX Pharmaceutical Corporation. The same actress also appears briefly as a paramedic, a non-speaking role, and then again as a Groupie who shares a musical number with Dean. Accompanies on two songs, baritenor.
