NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE 2014-2017 ALBERTA BALLET AGREEMENT SUCCESSFULLY
CONCLUDE

Equity announces that bargaining with the Alberta Ballet for a renewal
of the 2014-2017 Alberta Ballet Agreement has successfully concluded.

Equity Members in good standing who are currently working under the
agreement are eligible to vote on the ratification of the proposed
changes. A ratification vote will commence shortly. Details will follow
as soon as they are available.

Equity and the Alberta Ballet entered into formal negotiations in
February 2014. Bargaining concluded on June 9, 2014.

Improvements include:

- Financial increases of 3% on contracted fees in each of the three
years of the agreement
- Significant increases in overtime rates and additional paid days off
for auditions for dancers who have not been renewed
- RRSP plan with a 2% contribution from the engager up to a match of a
ceiling of $80 per pay period
- Creation of new categories including Singer, Actor, Character Artist
and Supplementary Dancer, and a guarantee of 42 weeks of engagement
- Artists in their 9th or subsequent year of service will receive an
additional paid week of vacation
- Equity and the Alberta Ballet also worked together to formalize a
brand new harassment policy as part of the Agreement

Pending a successful ratification, the new terms of the Agreement will
retroactively come into effect July 1, 2014.
