that students of all backgrounds can recognize themselves and their
world in Shakespeare's plays, and that the diversity among students in
the Greater Toronto Area should be reflected in our acting company.

Additional information: The Classical Theatre Project is one of Canada's
leading producers of classical theatre for youth. Since its founding in
2001 as a teen-focused company, this multiDora Award nominated
organization as expended its reach to engage, inspire, and entertain
close to one million people across North America.

Now entering its 15th season, the Classical Theatre Project performs
every year to over
50,000 students in Toronto and to many more on tour. This season, CTP
will perform at the Toronto Centre for the Arts in its world-class
George Weston Recital Hall.

Classical Theatre Project provides an unparalleled professional
opportunity for actors. In addition to being a member of Canada's most
exciting theatre company, our repertory company has access to a unique
environment that accelerates their development by training with
acclaimed directors and performing some of the greatest roles in the
Western canon.

We are now accepting submissions for our fall 2015 repertory company,
performing:

Romeo & Juliet
Macbeth
Hamlet
A Midsummer Night's Dream
Shylock by Gareth Armstrong

Union Status: Equity, with a small number of non-union positions

Contract: October to December 2015; approximately 8 weeks

Open call - Monday, May 4th
First callback - Wednesday, May 6th
Final callback - Friday, May 8th

Non-Union
Open call - Tuesday, May 5th
First callback - Thursday, May 7th
Final callback - Friday, May 8th

Audition Location: Geary Lane, 360 Geary Ave (Dufferin & Dupont)

Submission Deadline: Sunday, May 3rd by 12pm

Looking for: Strong male and female performers between the ages of
22-50. Actors belonging to visible minorities are strong encouraged to
apply. Professional experience in performing classical theatre in
mandatory; degree or diploma in acting preferred.

Audition Requirements
1. The first round is a group audition, which will last approximately
one hour and consist of both a dance and singing call. Preparation for
the dance call is not required, but the actors should come dressed for
movement. The singing component is unaccompanied, and the actor should
be prepared to sing a capella a short section of any song of his/her
choice.

2. Applicants asked to advance to the second round will be given a short
Shakespeare monologue to prepare.

3. If the applicant is selected to advance further, they will be given
sides to prepare for scenework in pairs or small groups on Friday, May
8th.

4. Applicants must be familiar with Shakespeare's work and be prepared
to read from his plays.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
