COUNCIL ELECTION REFORM - MEMBER INPUT is NEEDED NOW!
-------------------------------------------

Equity's Council is currently in planning mode for the next round of
Councillor elections. It is considering a proposal to reform the
election process.

Plans aren't finalized, so now is the time to let your voice be heard.

Under the Association's current electoral system, all 22 seats are up
for election at the same time every three years. The benefit of this
approach is its obvious - simplicity: one massive push across the
country, and the whole thing is over and done within a few months. The
downside of this approach is equally as obvious - a loss of continuity
and momentum.

The Council Renewal Committee has proposed changing to rotating
elections.

>>Are staggered elections a good idea? Or are they a waste of time?<<

>>Do you think this change of approach will energize the Equity
membership's elected representatives?<<

>>Or will elections every year drain resources and lead to even greater
voter fatigue?<<

Now is the time to register your opinion.
