Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: 
CAEA performers will be given priority. Artists of all cultural
backgrounds and body types are strongly encouraged to submit resumes for
consideration.

Additional information: 
Theatre Kingston is holding auditions for the world premiere of The
Convict Lover by Judith Thompson with original music by Tom Bellman,
directed by Kathryn MacKay.  Production runs February 18 - March 6, 2016
at the Isabel Bader Centre For the Performing Arts. 

Cassie/Young Phyllis - (young 20's F). Two roles to be played by one
actor. Cassie is a fearless, smart young woman who has grown up in rough
circumstances. Young Phyllis is shy, and impressionable and has been
protected for most of her young life. Strong singer and mover.
 
Ty/Daddy Long Legs -(30's M). Two roles to be played by one actor. Ty is
a self-aware, risk taking dreamer. Daddy Long Legs is an irresistible
charmer. Strong singer and mover

Ideally, the actor would be available for a script development workshop
Sept 26-28, 2015.

Those auditioning will be required to prepare a monologue and perform a
short acappella song (singer/songwriter repertoire).

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
