RATIFICATION VOTE ON THE PROPOSED CHANGES TO THE 2015-2018 CTA WILL BEGIN JUNE 1, 2015

The proposed amendments to the 2015-2018 Canadian Theatre Agreement (CTA) are now subject to ratification by the affected Equity membership. A CTA ratification voting kit including a voter instruction letter, a copy of the proposed material changes to the CTA, a fee booklet identifying proposed fees for 2015-2018 and an explanatory letter was mailed to eligible Equity members earlier today.

Voting for the 2015-2018 CTA will be by electronic methods only. Telephone and Internet voting opens Monday, June 1 at 9:00 a.m. ET and closes Thursday, June 18. Only those votes cast prior to 5:00 p.m. PT on June 18 will be counted. The results of the CTA ratification will be announced on e-drive and on EQUITYONLINE (http://www.caea.com) on Friday, June 19, 2015.

Regular, Regular - Extended Visa, and Life members of Equity in good standing, who have been engaged under any theatre agreement or policy, with the exception of engagement under the Artists' Collective Policy or the Festival Policy, within the six-year period ending with the expiry date of the Agreement (August 24, 2009 to June 28, 2015) or who registered to vote before April 2, 2015 are eligible to vote.

Any eligible voter who does not receive a ballot by Thursday, June 4, 2015 is encouraged to contact Equity's National Office either by email (communications at caea.com) or by phone (1-800-387-1856 or 416-867-9165 in Toronto) for assistance.

Pending a successful ratification, the new CTA fee and monetary amount increases as well as material changes will take effect on June 29, 2015. The 2015-2018 CTA will remain in force until June 25, 2018.

A copy of the negotiated material changes and fee booklet is available in the members only zone at EQUITYONLINE (http://www.caea.com).

RATIFICATION SCHEDULE
- Tuesday, May 26, 2015 - CTA Ratification voting kit mailed out to eligible Equity members
- Monday, June 1, 2015 - Voting by telephone and Internet begins at 9:00 a.m. ET
- Thursday, June 4, 2015 - Members should contact Voter HelpLine (1-800-387-1856) if ratification voting kit not received by mail
- Thursday, June 11, 2015 - Last day to be enumerated
- Thursday, June 18, 2015 - Last day to vote. Voting closes at 5:00 p.m. PT
- Friday, June 19, 2015 - CTA ratification results announced on EQUITYONLINE and by EQUIFLASH
