2015 FEDERAL ELECTION PLATFORMS - WHO SUPPORTS ARTS & CULTURE?
-----------------------------------

With only two weeks to go in this historic 11-week federal election
campaign, most major political parties have released specific platforms that
speak to each party's support and vision for arts & culture in Canada.

Below are links to each party's Arts and Culture platform and/or related
materials. Equity urges its members to support a party or candidate that is
supportive of arts & culture, and pledges commitment to continued support of
the arts in Canada. Vote Arts & Culture. Vote change.

Conservative: The Conservative Party has not released a specific arts and
culture platform. Please visit:

to read the Canadian Conference of the Arts, the Canadian Arts Coalition and
the Saskatchewan Arts Alliance's analysis of the 2015 (Conservative) federal
budget which examines federal funding for the arts and culture sector for
the 2015-2016 fiscal year. The broad conclusion of this analysis is that
while this pre-election budget did not contain any major changes to cultural
funding, arts and culture was not a top political priority of the
Conservative government.
