Additional information:
Single Thread Theatre Company is seeking actors for its next site-specific
project "Turkey Shoot". The production is in partnership with City of
Toronto Historic Sites and the Toronto Arts Council.

The production is a new play devised for the Gibson House Museum and looks
at the life of David Gibson and his friendship with the Ojibwe chieftain
Kahkewaquonaby amidst the tumultuous 1830s in Upper Canada.

Rehearsals will begin in early September 2016. The show will run October 6,
7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 22 @ 7 30 PM with Matinees on 7, 14, 21 at 12:00
pm.

Casting Breakdown for Turkey Shoot:

DAVID GIBSON (20s-30s) Honest, earnest, scientifically minded, a
revolutionary in the making. David is Scottish-born and raised.

ELIZA GIBSON (20s-30s) David’s Wife. Intelligent, determined, hard working
and fiercely protective of her family. ELIZA was born in New York state and
emigrated to Upper Canada with her family.

KAHKEWAQUONABY (PETER JONES) (20s) Spiritual, bright, inquisitive,
optimistic, a leader to be. Peter is half-Ojibwe, born among the Mississauga
of Port Credit.

COL. JAMES GIVINS (50s/60s) A veteran of the American Revolution and War of
1812. He fought alongside Mohawk and Ojibwe warriors and is now the Head of
Indian Affairs and the representative for the Governor General to the
Ojibwe.

REVEREND STRACHN (40s/50s) A determined, strategically-minded community
leader. His great aim is to stop the spread of revolution and democracy in
Canada.

AUGUSTUS JONES (50s/60s) Wise, a bit of a curmudgeon and an eccentric. He is
a pioneer who has lived out in the bush for decades self-sufficiently.

FRANCIS BOND HEAD (30s) Comedic. A braggadocio. He always says what is on
his mind, even if he has no idea what he is talking about. He has been sent
to Upper Canada to achieve reform of the government.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
