Theatre Festival is committed to diverse, inclusive casting, and so welcomes
submissions from artists of all backgrounds.

Additional information: The Stephenville Theatre Festival is accepting
submissions for its 2016 Summer Season in Stephenville, Newfoundland and
Labrador.

Stephenville Theatre Festival is the longest-running professional theatre
festival in Newfoundland and Labrador, operating since 1979.  The company
performs in rep in two spaces in the Stephenville Arts & Culture Centre, the
450 seat Main Stage and the 140 seat Stage 2. For more information about the

Eight Week Contract: June 21-August 14, 2016.  A repertory season, all
performers will appear in at least two productions.

DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS
Broadway musical comedy by David Yazbeck and Jeffrey Lane
A hilarious musical based on the 1988 film of the same name. Two con men, a
beautiful woman and the elite of the French Riviera collide in this sexy and
irreverent farce.
Roles to be cast
•  LAWRENCE JAMESON (Age: 45 to 60), An experienced British con artist who
is sophisticated, suave, and elegant. Vocal range: G2 to Bb4
•  FREDDY BENSON (Age: 25 to 35) A young, clever, aspiring American con
artist. He is a sloppy, yet attractive womanizer, and is eventually conned
by Christine. Vocal range: A2 to B4
•  ANDRE THIBAULT (Age: 45 to 55) Lawrence's French assistant. Official and
mostly serious, he has a light-hearted nature and a quirky sense of humor.
Vocal range: F2 to F4
•  MURIEL EUBANKS (Age: 45 to 60) A wealthy and attractive American
socialite from Nebraska, she one of Lawrence's victims and Andre's
subsequent love interest. Vocal range top: E3 to C5
•  MALE AND FEMALE ENSEMBLE

PERFECT WEDDING
A hilarious farce by Robin Hawdon
A wedding day in a country hotel goes disastrously wrong, causing chaos to
all concerned, Perfect Wedding is a rare combination - a riotous comedy and
a touching love story at the same time.
Roles to be cast
•  RACHEL (Age: 20s-30s) A bride on her wedding day
•  BILL (Age: 20s-30s) A groom on his wedding day, who has awoken with a
hang-over and a strange girl in his bed.
•  TOM (Age: 20s-30s) The best man, trying desperately to help the groom
keep his secret
•  JUDY (Age: 20s-30s) The young woman who wound up in bed with the groom
•  JULIE  (20s-30s) An innocent bystander and hotel chambermaid, outraged at
the antics of the hotel guests
•  DAPHNE (Age: 40s-60s) The mother of the bride.

A CLOSER WALK WITH PATSY CLINE
Musical by Dean Regan
The musical by Dean Regan follows Patsy Cline's climb to stardom from her
hometown in Virginia to The Grand Ole Opry, Las Vegas and Carnegie Hall.
Roles to be cast
•  LITTLE BIG MAN (Age: 30s-60s): A Radio Announcer/DJ, doubles as a
stand-up comic at the Grand Ole Opry. Good comic timing.

BLUE CHAMPAGNE
A musical flashback to the 1940s
Conceived & Written by Ken John Grant
The setting is a radio station in the late 1940s. Three triple-threat
performers perform over 60 songs from the era over the course of their
‘broadcast’.
Roles to be cast
•  MAN (Age: 20s-30s): Good comedic timing and a 40s style broadcast voice.
Vocal Range: Tenor/Baritone
•  WOMAN 1 (Age: 20s-30s): Good comedic timing and a 40s style broadcast
voice. Vocal Range: Alto
•  WOMAN 2 (Age: 20s-30s) : Good comedic timing and a 40s style broadcast
voice. Vocal Range: Mezzo soprano
•  BACKUP/ENSEMBLE SINGERS

ROCK ‘N’ FABLES
A rock musical for kids and their families
Written by Thom Currie & Craig Wingrove
Rock 'N' Fables is a re-telling of Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and The
Frog Prince. The show is completely sung by three performers, in a variety
of musical styles (music-theatre to pop to country to operetta to tango).
Strong dance is important.
Roles to be cast
•  MAN (Age: 20s-30s): Good comedy and vocal skills. Vocal Range:
Tenor/Baritone
•  WOMAN 1 (Age: 20s-30s): Good comedic timing and a legit music theatre
voice. Vocal Range: Soprano
•  WOMAN 2 (Age: 20s-30s): Good comedic timing and strong dance. Vocal
Range: Mezzo soprano with a strong belt

Members of CAEA will be engaged under a CAEA form of contract.
