Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
Talk Is Free Theatre is strongly committed to inclusive casting. We invite
submissions from artists of all cultural backgrounds.

Additional information:
The Libertine by Thomas Shadwell, written in 1676. Directed and adapted by
Jeannette Lambermont-Morey. Rehearsals begin on Monday, December 12, 2016
previews January 5, opens January 6 and closes January 15, 2017. Auditions
will be held in Toronto on August 7 and 8, with call-backs on August 8.

Note: all cast members play multiple roles, so an ability to play different
characters is a must. Singing and/or ability to play an instrument (guitar,
tambourine, etc) are an asset.

Don Antonio, Don Lopez – 25-35 years. Companions to Don John. Cynical, rash,
self-indulgent and without conscience. Deeply under the influence of their
leader. Advanced sword skills required.

Ernesta – 40-60 years. A wandering free-spirit, and mother. Must be able to
sing.

Leonora – 18-25 years. A tragic lady, hopelessly and futilely in love with
Don John.

Maria – 20-30 years. A vengeful noblewoman with exceptional sword skills.

Clara – 18-25. A young, disappointed bride.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
