Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
PH Theatre believes in cultural and ethnic diversity on stage and in our
programming. Like Peter Brook, we believe that an artist's cultural and
ethnic background informs, but does not limit what they bring to a role. In
casting, we consider how this background can contribute to the artistic
aesthetic and impact that the production will have on the audience and the
art form.

Additional information:
BAKING TIME is a co-production with England's Oily Cart Theatre. The play,
almost entirely sung, is for the very young (Ages 3 to 7).  During the
course of the play, bread is baked on stage for the audience by two bakers
from different cultural backgrounds and personalities. We are looking for
two actors who:
 - enjoy and connect with young children
-  are strong singers and musical
- have experience in or the skill of table top puppetry
- understand clown for the stage
- are skilled improvisors
- love baking bread
Rehearsals begin Nov 7th, Run from November 24th to Dec 11th, at PH Theatre
in North Vancouver.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
