Festival Players encourages submissions from artists of all ethno-cultural
backgrounds

Additional information:
Festival Players of Prince Edward County is producing the world premiere of
A Splinter in the Heart by Dave Carley (from the novel by Al Purdy).

SYNOPSIS: A group of actors are recording a live radio drama, with foley and
music, in studio. It's an adaptation of a novel set in Trenton, Ontario,
1918; a coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of WWI.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:

NARRATOR/PORTUGEE - male, 67
ACTOR 1 -  PATRICK, male, 18
ACTOR 2 -  JEAN, female, 17
ACTOR 3 -  RED, HARTWELL,various,male 40's
ACTOR 4 -  MS MCLAREN,PATRICK'S MOTHER,various,female 40's

*The two female roles and ACTOR 3 require accents (various, including
English and Scottish).

Experience in radio drama/in studio is an asset. Also, please indicate if
you play an instrument.

Rehearsals begin July 12. Show opens Aug 3. Closes Aug 21.

Auditions are in Toronto. All rehearsals and performances are in Prince
Edward County (2 1/2 hrs east of Toronto).

auditions at festivalplayers.ca. Only those selected for an audition will be
contacted.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
