Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
This position is funded through Miziwe Biik Aboriginal Employment and
Training and subject to government funding. All applicants must meet
requirements for employment as determined by Miziwe Biik. All applicants
must be Aboriginal (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) and must be currently
unemployed or underemployed.

Additional information:
Temporary 26-week position, 32-hours per week
$15.00 CAD per hour
July 4, 2016 - December 16, 2016

Under the supervision and with guidance from the Marketing Manager, the
Marketing Coordinator Trainee will assist with planning and execution of the
festival marketing campaign leading up to and during the 29th annual
Weesageechak Begins to Dance festival.

Qualifications:
- Innovative and creative thinker;
- Detail-oriented with excellent writing, copy-editing, proofreading skills;
- Good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor;
- Demonstrated use of social media and Microsoft Office;
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment;
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team setting;
- Familiar with Indigenous cultural protocols and traditional knowledge;
- Interest in or familiarity with arts and culture or non-profit
organization.

- Good interpersonal skills and professional demeanor;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment;
- Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (word, excel and outlook);
- Familiar with Indigenous cultural protocols and traditional knowledge.
