Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: This audition is
open to artists of all diverse backgrounds.

Role:
Dancin' Archie - late 30s/50s — an East Coast "man's man" of the 1930s who
can outdrink you, is quick with a witty retort, a song, and his temper,
loves his wife dearly, and who has a pretty high status in this impoverished
coal mining community where it is these things that are the "measure of a
man" at the time. Must sing and playing an instrument (guitar/ mandolin/
fiddle) also an advantage. Accents of all kinds welcome.

Date of Auditions:
Monday, May 23rd (evening) at Eastern Front Theatre Offices in Halifax
To Be In The Room: Jeremy Webb (Director) & Lindsay Kyte
(Producer/Playwright)

Contract Details: Rehearsals from week of Nov. 6 - Nov. 23 in Halifax; Tour
Nova Scotia from Nov. 24 - Dec. 11

*Will accept both Equity and Non-Equity Submissions. This is a union tour.
Will be hiring from the local area, so submissions from actors located in
Halifax area only, please!
*Please bring a monologue of your choice and a song in a folky and/or beer
drinking style. If you can play an instrument, we'd love to hear it as well.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
