Additional information:

As the Artistic Director, you will report directly to the Board of
Directors, while working closely with the General Manager, and will be
accountable for the quality and success of the artistic aspects of the
Theatre. Drawing on your creativity and artistic vision, you will guide
the development of Neptune’s programs, and select and direct play
productions. Promoting innovation and diversity, you will be responsible
for programming a wide range of productions that entertain, challenge, and
educate a variety of audiences. As an ambassador for Neptune, you will
actively engage the artistic and the broader community, and collaborate
with other theatres in the region and across Canada, acting as the face of
the Theatre. Your priorities will include developing and fostering
relationships with donors, sponsors, and key government funders while
promoting the Foundation; interacting, engaging, and communicating clearly
with the Board of Directors; and along with the General Manager, ensuring
financial stability and ensuring fiscal responsibility of the
organization.

As the ideal candidate, you have demonstrated the capacity for developing
outstanding theatre and artistic leadership, a passion for innovation and
creativity, and knowledge of a vast network of theatre professionals
gained through your engagement and collaboration with diverse theatres.
You bring a distinguished record of experience in developing programming
and directing, a deep commitment to the artistic plan and vision, and
insight into the changing demographics and interests of existing as well
as potential theatre audiences. You are passionate about, and gain energy
from, engaging others within the artistic and local communities, with
funders and partners, and most importantly, with audiences. You lead with
a collegial approach, and appreciate and understand the operational and
business aspects of Theatre.
