The Deviser’s Lab: an intensive introduction to devised creation

This workshop focuses on creative strategies and practical exercises to
develop new theatrical work. Our goal is to expand the artist’s creative

MOVING CHARACTERS - A LABAN BASED PHYSICALITY WORKSHOP

Explore character physicality using the eight movement ‘Efforts’ of Rudolph
Laban.  Discover how this multi-disciplinary approach to creating the
physical life of a character can free your body and voice.   Work with
individually selected monologues.

Burst through your performance inhibitions at this two-day acting intensive
in London, Ontario. Charlotte Gowdy (Associate Director at Stratford
Festival, graduate of National Theatre School of Canada and Ecole Philippe
Gaulier in Paris, France) will guide you through a series of games and
acting exercises rooted in the traditions of Le Jeu. Hone skills in
playfulness, physicality, presence, timing, improvisation and connection, as
you flex your imagination and experience the life-affirming pleasure of
playing! Guaranteed laughter and sweating. All levels welcome.
