Additional information:
Tent Meeting is a funny and moving story about faith – or the lack of it –
in a Depression-era prairie town, told through gospel music woven throughout
the script. Performers must be strong singers. Skill with a musical
instrument is an asset.

Sam Lundquist (1st tenor). Mid 30s - 40s. Sam has a knack for mischief and
runs the pool hall in town.

Pastor Ernest Douglas (2nd tenor). Late 20s-early 30s. The well-meaning
local minister.

George Hoveland (baritone). mid 30s-mid 40s A farmer and former quartet
singer. Embittered by disappointments, George has lost his faith and his
music in a community where both are paramount.

Reverend Elroy Phillips (bass). Mid 30s-mid 40s. A charismatic traveling
evangelist, trying to repair past wrongs while reconnecting with friends
from his past.

Dolly Hoveland (pianist). Mid 30s-mid 40s. A religious woman troubled by
her husband’s lack of faith. Must be a proficient piano player.

All performers must be strong singers. Priority will be given to
Saskatchewan performers.

A reading copy of the script is available from Station Arts Centre. Actors
will be given brief sides (in advance), and asked to sing a piece of
gospel/bluegrass music.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
