Fools encourages submissions from diverse artists of all backgrounds

Additional information:

a Company of Fools is holding General Auditions in Ottawa in preparation for
our 2018 Torchlight Shakespeare production of Twelfth Night directed by
Bronwyn Steinberg, June-August 2018.  Actors who audition will also be in
consideration for workshops and roving animation opportunities as they arise
in 2018.

The successful candidates will be Ottawa-based, have a strong handle of
Shakespearean text, be skilled in physical theatre, versatile and be able to
persevere in heat, humidty, rain and other summer-like weather conditions.
Puppetry skills, improv and the ability to confidently play hand held
acoustic instruments will be considered an asset. A strong sense of humour
and supportive team spirit are essential.

Auditions will be held in Ottawa November 25-26th.

Please send a letter of interest, headshot and resume in one PDF  addressed
to Artistic Director Catriona Leger at auditions at fools.ca by 5pm on
Wednesday November 15th, 2017.  Please indicate your Equity status at the
time of submission.

Established artists who have been working regularly in Ottawa and whose work
is known to the company are invited to send a letter of interest along with
an updated cv and headshot for our files.

Only those selected to audition will be contacted.

Please prepare:
Two contrasting Shakespearean monologues
and
16 bars of an acappella song (please no longer than 30 seconds)

Contrary to previous Torchlight seasons, artists will NOT be required to
participate in set up of the stage before the show.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
